Creating the stuff of life

There is a crashing, clanging, almost unnerving clatter of complaint and fury coming from the masses this year.  In unison, the voices of discontent are everywhere.

We have a natural pull to indentify with all the protesters around the world at the moment, yet there is also a need to DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE with all the energy these "Occupy " movements are generating.

Everyone is a creative and resourceful person.  Our talents are limitless when we link them together for an idea and a purpose.  Already there are inventive ways these "occupy" groups are communicating:  primal hand signals, call and response sessions, exciting ways to use social networking. So, why not add another dimension to this wave of protest: creative engineering of endless possibilities.

We want government officials, bosses, bankers, and Wall Street to come up with solutions to our lives.  We should know by now that their ideas serve their own interests.  So, why would we rely on others to solve our problems.  Are we a community of minions and mice, or are we masters of our own destiny?

Our focus in 2012 should not be an election. We should be focused on the total deconstruction of mediocrity.  Now is the time to elevate CREATIVITY. The 21 Century will demand new and innovative ways to thrive in our global community.  We are primed and ready to launch into a millenium of great and radical change for ourselves and the planet.

And, we have the attention of the entire world.  "Occupy" is now a fashionable state of mind in which to be aligned. Here is a golden opportunity for creative ideas, innovations, and original thinking to come together and be shared.  There is an audience out there just waiting for the next brave new worldview that sustains us into the foreseeable future.

By bringing our talents and creative energy together to solve our little problems, we will have even greater
resources to tackle the truly large ones.  Seeking creative resolutions to everyday issues will develop unique and dynamic results for ourselves and indeed, for this wide expanse we call the "world".

Here's to making something wonderful and new....it starts with YOU!

Occupy Planet Earth

Earth is the golden goose in a planetary system that allows our form of nature to flourish and thrive. We are singularly blessed with an environment that offers us continuous Life, free of charge.

The 1% of those who have taken full advantage of the bounty on our planet has led to unimaginable decreases in resources to sustain life as we know it.

This is HOME. Regardless of nationality, race, creed or religion, this is HOME.

The "Occupy Wall Street" movement is a marvelous reminder of what is important to the quality of life for people living within the rules of government. Yet, the quality of LIFE on the planet is so much more important right now.

We need to harness the energy of the 99 percenters and expand the fight to secure the remaining natural resources for everyone.

Our planet's population is inching towards 7 billion people. Fresh drinking water, clean air, food and shelter are big issues for a sustainable reality in the near future.

Now is the time to STAND and DELIVER on the clear mandate that resources must be shared equitably and consistently among everyone who lives here.

We must Occupy every corner of this planet to secure its future, so we can continue to call Earth, HOME.

Last night was the first Presidential debate and the one thing that was abundantly clear is that it's time for the American people to stand up and be counted,

Our specific form of government has three branches of power and two political parties.  Not one of them are for the people at large.

Rarely have I been so disappointed with how things are NOT done in Congress. When people in Congress are paid very high salaries to do nothing and deliberately bring about the worst calamity upon its citizens, it is time to act.

There is much to be done to evolve our industries into 21 century organizations that are both sustainable and profitable. The Green Revolution has begun and we need everyone working together to usher in new technologies and efficient methods of viability for our country's future and for the planet's survival.

The two party system has failed the American people. We don't have time to bother with ideologies that are old and lethal to today's pressing needs. Nor, are we invested in old men with their old ideas and greedy ways....this simply must be stopped and NOW.

We have allowed them to do what they wish with our lives and future. This stops today.

The great experiment that is America has had many false starts, beginning with declaring itself free from the tyranny of England, while at the same time exploiting the homeland of native peoples already on this land and stealing free Africans into dire enslavement.

The list of our country's difficult birth is long but, doesn't change the profound dream that it represents. The credo that all people are created equal and given that right by their creator to pursue their own life, liberty, and happiness is a noble one.

Everyone on the planet should have these rights. It is a Human Right and America is worth the investment of ideals and hard work to ensure this mandate becomes a template for the entire planet.

It is too easy to give up and blame it on those in power. We are the power. We have never wanted to own the enormous gift this power can bring. We are the light of the world and it is up to us...."we, the people....."

It is time to act. Days of crying about this party or that group is over. We are the American people and that is enough to power our way into getting things accomplished.

We must be ready to raise our voices and demand of ourselves the way forward.

The angry rhetoric is only good for the 2 second soundbite on cable news. The real sound comes from the voices who want solution and innovation.

Let's not allow the bullies to beat us up and down the streets of no return.

Greed is what they are after and greed is what they fight for. It is not for God and country, it is purely for themselves. This is not a class war, this is not a war at all. This is a killing.

They want to kill what is the most profound IDEA ever given birth on this planet, that all people are free to live the life they want, and to find happiness along the way. Every citizen of this planet has a right to food and shelter, healthy environments, and a governing body that works together with them.

This new American People's Party is a movement and a way forward.

Join in, tell your friends and get started. Do something constructive towards our Green Revolution. Our planet needs us now as well as our country. This is the way Forward.

Acid skies and burning bushes are mythical images from long ago, but today's climate change reflects a growing understanding that global warming is a real threat to life in our neck of the Milky Way.

Solar flares are tracked by NASA with a fleet of space craft monitoring the sun because it is well known that the damage from such flares could be catastrophic to our digital civilization.

Solar weather runs in cycles and the current one will peak in 2013. The real threat is that the sun could belch out a massive flare of electromagnetic radiation our way and disrupt radios, satellite transmissions, power grids, and other communication systems offline for days on end. The added financial losses could also run into the trillions of dollars, with no real prospect of immediate recovery.

The Carrington Event of 1859 gave a glimpse of what such a powerful flare would produce in our present day world of digital dependency. Then, the setback was limited to our nascent communication system at the time, as telegraphic machines were set ablaze and spectacular auroras painted the sky for all to see. To revisit such an event today, would be unthinkable.

In ancient times, the Egyptians worshiped the sun god Ra. They may have had some insight into this powerhouse that is at the center of our very existence. Perhaps, a little worship from us now is in order.

The Other Side of Time

On May 25, 1977, the blockbuster movie Star Wars, opened in theater all over America and introduced a number of radical concepts into the general vernacular, namely the idea of "warp speed".

This trick of collapsing time was tied to another phenomena in the film, the FORCE, a powerful interconnecting "field" that had a unifying effect on everything.

Fast forward to today and science has indeed proven that what was once fiction has become fact. Time can be altered by manipulating electromagnetic energy fields beyond the speed of light, thus making the notion of time travel more possible.

Bending spatial environments to go from here to there is a concept ready to be explored more fully. Traveling to the other side of "time" is the next big adventure. Even Yoda would be happy to see gravity challenged humans advance to a greater understanding of the "FORCE", whose connective tissue of timelessness is all about "free space"!

Now, that the "God" particle has been discovered, there is no end to the adventures that awaits the next generation of creative thinkers, inventors, scientists, astronauts, and "time travelers" that will harness the  unified field and take off.....to far, far, distant galaxies......

We are told that Consciousness acting upon the brain produces Mind. If this is true then, Consciousness is the golden goose and the brain is the intermediary to possessing an outrageous Mind.

In the early seventies, there was a commercial with a powerful tagline:

"A Mind was a terrible thing to waste"

Yet, it wasn't known then just how wasteful a Mind could be without an enlightened Consciousness guiding it.

But, how do we cultivate an "Enlightened Consciousness" that goes beyond the ordinary machinations of a brain that few know how to fully access or facilitate for greater use?

This is a question that alchemists, yogis, and shaman have sought for eons. Using metaphysics, natural stimulants, and sacred herbs, ancient peoples have delved into the primordial soup of Consciousness to mine its secrets and to gain knowledge hidden within the mysteries of an unknown world.

The journey over time to understanding the role of the brain has become the divining rod to knowable aspects between Consciousness and Mind. So now, the new adage should be

"a brain is a terrible thing to waste", as it is the essential bridge that allows a streaming energy field to coalesce into a pliable force of INTENT.

Therefore, in order to go beyond the realm of ordinary human experiences, one might well develop their brain power which would be more effective in harnessing an ever expanding Consciousness to a deserving Mind.

In the wildly successful animation Toy Story, Buzz Lightyear, the pesky astronaut with great ambition reveals to his best pal Woody, that all he wants to do is go "to infinity and beyond"!

Its amazing what a cartoon character can teach us mere mortals.

Birth as Woman is Earth

The raging speech in some corners of Christian churches and in corner offices of Congress comes the silly notion that Sharia Law is threatening to the American way of Life.

Forget that our Constitution made it legal to buy, sell, and enslave Human Beings from Africa and refused women the vote until 1920.

Our society is not a paragon of promise just because we are born citizens of this country.

The Patriot Act, which was recently passed yet again, poses more threat to our way of life than a Muslim codex with obscure laws written centuries ago. The danger lies in the acceptance of any document that threatens our family of Life regardless of race, religion or national origins.

It's time to realize that silly borders and illegitimate boundaries don't make nations; they simply continue the wars and laws of intolerance and bigotry that serves only a few.

As the Earth changes that are here begin to mount and shift the ground beneath us (two 7.4; 7.2 earthquakes erupted in the Pacific Ocean off the Aleutian Islands last night), we will become more acutely aware of how precious this "emerald isle" is to us.

Earth is a jewel in the cosmic sea of our Milky Way. The interwoven family of life that exists within her watery edges need to come together as a viable force of nature and renew this place we call HOME.

The only real law that threatens our way of life is Greed. Too many have lived by these artificial laws of "we can TAKE what we want" and the rest of us have perished because of them.

Muslims, Christians, Hindus, and the like don't make us a better world.

Being a loving, giving, creative spirit working together with the life that is here, does!

As the Moon moves deeper into the shadow, it will change colors that range from grey, to orange and finally, a rich shade of red.

The Moon will hide behind the star 51 Ophiuchi and reappear after 90 minutes early on June 16, 2011.

Slave Consciousness

About 150 years ago, white Americans went to war with each other over the enslavement of millions of Africans. These Human Beings had been held in abject slavery on American soil for more than two centuries by the outbreak of the civil war in 1860.

The Emancipation Proclamation freed most of these captives but, the psychological, social, and economic damage of slavery would persist for Africans in America for years to come.

It is said that the real slaves were not the African, but the white Americans who kept Human Beings captive.

There has to be something internally warped within the "Being" of a person to believe without a doubt that they can enslave another Human.

So, the slave was not the captive, but the plantation owner of that person.

The captives were innocent of the actions thrust upon them, whereas, the southern society that engaged in buying and selling Human Beings, were themselves captives of their own Slave Consciousness.

The African American today has wrongly suffered with the indignities of being "enslaved" because they've been made to believe there's something fundamentally wrong with who they are.

And yet, those who gladly enslaved Africans have never owned nor understood the intrinsic mental illness that their "slave consciousness" has brought upon them as a people and a country, to this very day.

The American psyche will never be completely healed unless and until the inherent and original "slave consciousness" that's been harbored, protected, and revisited on this nation, is eradicated forever.

Touching the Future

Being able to see the future has been left to the world of the weird; quantum psychics, the imagination, and science fiction novels.

At the beginning of the 21 century, scientists are looking beyond the classical notion of linear reality. The many worlds theory allows that each possible outcome of an action splits into a copy of itself, unaware of the other version.

For humans, having the possibility of multiple realities is a paradigm that transcends philosophy, religion, and civil societies. And in some circles, it is purely diabolical!

Yet, you know when these "paranormal" science questions are becoming more relevant when Hollywood throws lots of money at such movies and television shows like "Another Earth" "Fringe," " Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman" and "The Elegant Universe"

The weird is becoming wonderful and there is more than "fringe science" making a comeback into our daily lives.

HAL...from 2001 is nearly a lost memory; for in this brave new world of multiple realms, computers won't be the only ones telling humans what to do. We will have our "other selves" running the show.

If this is possible and at the very least, probable, then life as we know it has been just the tip of a very big iceberg. Should we ever run into the "altered state of another self", it would be a grand adventure that even weird science today could not top.

Hold onto your seats....its going to be a thrilling ride.

Hers were shrouded in a perception of Hollywood's making. She was given false sight, one designed to dull her mind and break her heart.

Looking through the shattered lens of how others view us is the single most startling fact about why girls have such a distorted image of themselves.

Simply take off the glasses of deceit, delusion, acrimony, and self hatred.

Imagine what's behind those clear, wide open eyes?

Social convention allows that the female form is God's gift to man.

The woman, on the other hand sees her body not as a gift, but that constant nagging burden that inhabits its size, shape, and form.

In some cultures, big breasted women with ample hips are considered desirable. Then, there's the legendary "Amazon woman", tall, muscular and dangerously captivating. Of course, there is the curvaceous female, oozing with the power to eat men alive. Yikes!

Then there was the "Rubenesque" woman of the fifties. Full of passion and mystery in ways only Sophia Loren and the Playboy bunny were privy to, this iconic woman lasted until Twiggy showed up in her mini skirt, flaunting easy access to long legs topped off by lace panties.

It was the Sixites, where sex for sale was discounted for the masses. Everything had to have sex appeal, from kitchen counters, to racing cars. This new commodity needed a new look. Models were no longer sweet looking housewives in fine clothing, they were sex symbols to be ravished while wearing Gucci, Cassini, and Yves Saint Laurent.

Since then, the perfect woman's body isn't womanly at all. It's closer to being a tall, skinny 14 year old boy with breast implants. Should fashion designers have their way, women would never eat again so they could fit into skimpy, expensive garments made for the mannequins.

However, growing teenage girls need a balanced diet of good food and encouragement to accept the changing nature of their female cycles. Starving themselves to look like the underfed models in magazines and music videos does irrefutable damage to the body and psyche of young women.

The fashion industry is not the only culprit here. Girls terrorize each other over their appearance. Boys often ridicule girls if they reject their sexual advances. Parents often misread the emotional needs of their children during the most critical time in their young life, thinking it best to leave them alone to "be" teenagers.

All the while, young girls are hiding loneliness and heartbreak in their silence. Their self esteem is connected to their level of communication with other teenagers. On top of pimples, early breast development, and little parental guidance, girls will end up hurting themselves without early intervention.

Starving themselves may seem the perfect remedy. It will make them sexy, boys will notice them, and other girls will be envious. Girls as young as 10, are experimenting with not eating.

The disorder can potentially develop into anorexia or worst. By the time she is 15, most girls have tried a variety of methods to lose weight using diuretics, laxative, enemas, and vomiting.

Women, your girls need you now. Grandmothers, Mothers, Aunts, Sisters, Girlfriends and "Fairygodmothers" are the first line of defense for protecting our younger female population.

Men can't do this. Their role is different and vital. Only a female can teach a girl to become a woman.

Eve didn't eat the rotten apple of guilt and shame, nor should we!

Aliens in Wonderland

Science Fiction gives us many options when it comes to altered states of reality. Almost anything can be true under the rubric of weird science, metaphysics, and fantasy.

Unlike monsters and vampires, Aliens have been one fictional idea that most people believe could be fact. Ancient peoples drew strange looking beings on cave walls; Mayan gods prayed to figures that wore helmets, and Egyptian Pharaohs were known to have celestial connections with mysterious portals in outer space.

Fast forward to today, where there's an unbroken stream of speculation about the Roswell crash, hidden space ships at Area 51, and alleged top secret files by world governments, Alien folklore is alive and well and living happily in the consciousness of ordinary people on planet Earth. Popularized by movies, books, television programs and animation, ET has become one of the biggest box office draws in Hollywood for the past 60 years.

Yet, has all this attention to little green men brought us closer to the truth about whether we are alone in our universe? Can we ever know for sure if extra terrestrials really exists?

Enter "Fringe", the snappy, weird science, mind altering show on Fox television. Spouting fringe science to the max, this program zooms from one parallel world to another, complete with doppelgangers and doomsday machines. With a compelling storyline about the existence of what is not seen on the surface of our world, "Fringe" opens up the conversation about "the others" in an unusual way.

If the premise is true that we are our "future selves" coming back to save us from annihilation, then, the notion that we are also the very people standing in the way of our salvation is spectacularly stupefying. Whether "aliens" exists or not, it is a fact of science that life on Earth is part of an expanding universal force. Should we continue to wreck havoc on the only place where we are sure intelligent life exists, is outrageous.

It may be that we are the "aliens in wonderland" and it is to us to keep it that way!

Milestones of Summer

The beauty of summer can be found in the shimmering sights of its glorious nature; lush trees, full blown flowering bushes, fresh scented cut grass, and the buzzing of busy bees pollinating the next generation of foodstuffs for the masses.

Yet, this summer might also see great changes to the planet, and perhaps we should make time to smell the roses, savoring our truly wonderful cosmic home.

If the changes that are predicted are true, they will be a milestone in terms of ordinary life. Watch the weather reports with interest and always check your local news for flash alerts; we may well be in for a bumpy ride.

Be prepared with extra food and water. Our government can only do so much. Watching what happened in places like Joplin last week, it is clear we have to be responsible for ourselves and our families.

Be sure to fill your car with emergency items in case you are away from home if disaster strikes.

Make a family plan and post it somewhere in the home so everyone knows what it is.

It is better to be prepared than to be afraid.

Woman, the vessel that both carries and brings forth Life. It is a sacred rite of passage for a human being and that this power was given to the woman, has been both her curse and her glory.

Yet, the power to claim and define the state of womanhood has always been in the hands of men, be it at what age she can marry, what she can own, and who possesses the rights to her body. Thus, suffering the indignity of sexual abuse, shame, poverty, and murder for the majority of girls and women in the 21th century, prevails.

Why, after eons of dead voices from the grave, do we allow this?

How does an advance culture like ours, allow politicians to define rape or deny female soldiers the right to an abortion paid by the government she serves, if she is raped and becomes pregnant? How do we have large numbers of representation, but only interested in the booty call? Celebrities? Fashion Models and Royal Princesses?

There is only one reason women continue to allow such death and destruction to their body, mind and spirit. From ancient times to the present, there is an innate surrendering, a fallow stench of truth that lingers. Somewhere in the soul of woman, she believes herself beneath the man. Somehow, woman is not the Divine Being she believes herself to be; for if she were, no way in HELL, for centuries, would she let herself be butchered, battered, raped and enslaved by an inherent psychology of male domination.

A society of women who knows they are Divine, would seek to protect themselves. It would be the duty of every female to guard her younger sister. Every girl would know martial arts, meditation, physical and mental control, science, metaphysics, all of the arts, and sacred geometry, along with higher mathematics, cymatics and alchemy.

This global society of women has arrived. With Earth changes, come a mighty wind. Unenlightened women who have supported male dominance in sex slavery, government, education, and social engineering will be small in number and eventually fade away.

Women have always been equal to men.

That they have not known this for all their time on this planet is astonishing.

Hidden Treasure

The Oxford English Dictionary defines an eclipse as the complete or partial obscuring, relative to a designated Observer, of one celestial body by another.

So, it's the Observer who witnesses the takeover.

It's interesting to note that we are rarely without the perspective of the Observer, be it in science, psychology, or metaphysics; that guiding force of conscience and consciousness.

Being aware of this presence is a challenging aspect to being human. Our egos are often too big and bossy to be stopped when obscuring the light of another. Our personalities are defined emblems that cry out to be rewarded. And the need for attention is just too great to temper when it comes to getting our way. One can just hear the Sun telling the Moon it can't pass in front of the Earth, blocking out its light!

But, imagine being the one Observing the dance between them?

This "out of body" ability; observing with detachment is the hidden treasure within all of us and

restores equilibrium to our inner world.

It's good to be a happy camper!

From the Other Side of the Rabbit Hole

There's a lot of talk these days about Earth's ability to sustain its natural equilibrium in the face of so much damage caused by humans. And yet, Earth is not the only natural body working hard on sustainability and change in a volatile environment.

There's a marvelous book, "The Mind of the Cells" by Sri Aurobindo, with a passage by Goethe,

"beyond the tombs, forward"!

Forward is the buzz word to describe the profoundly insightful concepts in the book: ...that our cells have always been micro agents with a mind, propelling us into systematic and physical transformation.

And if this is true, the willful mutation of our species is on a collision course with hard edged antecedents like religion and social engineering. However forceful these mandates have been, the onward march of vibrational shifts in human consciousness can not be stymied at this juncture in our evolution.

Homo sapiens are made up of a collection of cell structures that change and mutate all the time. The very notion that the world within cells are fixed and inflexible is not supported by science nor biology. Additionally, the organizing intelligence that knows how to heal itself and regulate intricate cycles of its host is not fully understood in its entirety to date.

So, are we finished changing and growing as a species? Have we come to the end point of our evolution or, is there concrete evidence that we are meant to continue on this journey of Becoming?

If our cells have an innate consciousness that pulls itself in and out of vibrational fields, then it is safe to believe our evolutionary process is an on-going one. Who is to say that in 500 years, the form we possess now will look and act like it does, then?

The Gee-whiz Factor

Everyone wonders about the basis of existence and the unanswerable questions: "Who am I, where did I come from and where am I going..."

The fact that religion hasn't tempered the need to know the truth of these questions only reinforces the gaps between believers and those who seek solace in the material world.

Long ago, our African ancestors believed that all things, living or not have consciousness in the form of a soul. This animism created a natural bond among people and their spirit world.

Then, there's the zenith of the Zen approach which centers on the inner connection of all living things through quiet reflection, negating the need to have a single figurehead like a "Deity" for guidance.

Yet, fast forward to the New Age and the 21 century and most of us are still not sure about the big "G". There's diminishing returns on the image of an avenging god, taking bets on who wins and loses, especially when the money changers have "Madoff" long ago with your life savings!

So where does an inquisitive person go to find G?

Well, you could go to the mountain top, or to the nearby groves of trees. You could go to the horse stables or perhaps, swim out to the center of a lake and wait. You could lay down on the ground at night and gaze up at the stars,.....

Or, you could just be still and know you are WHO you have been looking for.

Really?

Really!

Gee-whiz....that was easy!

If life is governed by what we think, then it behooves us to dream ourselves into a Life worth thinking about.

I dream, therefore I think, therefore, I Am... might set the tone for everyday living. It is not enough to theoretically know that what you believe can come true; but HOW you think about WHAT you believe, makes it a reality.

("yes we CAN becomes yes we DID")

Wishing upon a star is only the start of a great adventure, especially if YOUR THOUGHTS are the shining light of that star, manifested from energy fields of consciousness, that then becomes your wonderful life.

....and the bonus here....we are the genie in the bottle!

"Fear eats the Soul"

Fear Decimates Truth

One of the strongest emotions that humans possess is fear. When we give into it, "It" is the ghost in the machine that informs our very existence and all too often drives us into a debilitating state of being.

Fear thrives in the corpus of every situation designed to keep us ignorant and disconnected from our legacy of unlimited possibilities. The longevity of chemical fear in the body erodes this greater truth and makes it unlikely that most of us will ever override this corrosive orientation.

When we look through the lens of our current society, fear rules the day. Whether it is larger than life 3-D movies thrusting vampires and demons at us for entertainment, or the parade of warring armies killing indiscriminately, to the personal engagement of hand to hand combat between the sexes, Fear is king.

Fear sits at the head of the table, presides over the congregation, scares its way into the boardroom and screams bloody murder in the public square.

Fear is the gift that keeps on giving.

We are addicted to fear. We give it power of possession and are afraid to be without it. We milk our children on a steady diet of fear. Violent video games, war toys, and scary movies are quickly converted into nightmares, and for impressionable young minds, fear will eventually become their jailer.

What if we confront our fear and free ourselves from this very "known" element. What if we discovered that fear had a shelf life and a date of expiration. What if the single most scary thing about fear was uncovering what it's hiding; Knowledge and Truth!

Then, and only then, can freedom ring!

Without fear, a soul sings. Without fear, a child learns. Without fear, a woman gains her voice.

Without fear, a father stands up. Without fear, a nation grows its wings. Without fear, there is a Heaven on Earth!

Today, some believe the world will end. If that world is called Fear, then, I welcome it. I say goodbye to its limitations; good riddance to its power hungry dominance, and "you're fired" to that overbearing and sinister agent of pain and suffering.

Like the song says..."its the end of the world as we know it"!

The Spring of Hearts

After such a long, wet winter Spring has arrived with the sweet smell of mint green and sassafras.

Flowers are blooming and people seem to move about the town with more ease these days.

I love the power of the sun and know that the great deluge all winter has brought with it a great harvest for everyone in the Pacific Northwest.

Now is the time to give homage to the bounty that awaits us in our gardens, backyard parties, and indoor feasts that summer will surely bring.

Already music can be heard blaring from cars with their tops down and skateboarders singing to tunes on their ipods; truly....there's a song in air and all of us are dancing to the beat of spring's happy heart.

So, get out there....strum your guitar, claps your hands and dance with your lover, or two! But above all, focus on the Love that is all around us.

Nature gives it freely, all we have to do it accept.

Food, Glorious Food

FOOD... that great equalizer and the iconic symbol of health and vitality. 

Nowhere is food more important than in one's own backyard. Happily for the residents of Yelm, their Food Cooperative has a new home with an expanded vision.

Housed in the well established business of Gordon's Garden Center, the "new" Yelm Food Coop brings with it a sustainable and reproducible model within the Cascadia Bioregion, that offers safe, community based, and regional self-sufficient agricultural systems and food accessibility.

We are aware that old fashioned farming techniques are becoming a thing of the past. Bio-engineering and seed selection has been going on now for the past twenty years. Farmers are losing their family farms to big corporations who are taking over the production of food.

To combat the rise of GMOs, small community farmer's markets and cooperatives have grown in popularity out of necessity. People are ready to work collectively to harness the power of home gardens and safe food production locally.  The Yelm Food Cooperative is fast becoming a leader in our area for several important reasons.  Their mission is both tailored to its community and expansive in its goals.

The Yelm Cooperative seeks to operate natural and organic food retail and distribution outlets, providing access to foods not available through the international food distribution systems.  They will develop and make available to members and the community at large comprehensive educational programs that focus on community food self-sufficiency through production, processing, storage, rotation, and use of regional foods. And lastly, they are developing a support network of local, community, and regional environmentally responsible farmers and small scale sustainable food services.  These will include, but not limited to Farmer's Markets, educationally focused community gardening programs, and farmer direct relationships.

In light of recent stories about Monsanto and other food corporations growing beef in test tubes, it is a welcomed relief to know that the Yelm Food Cooperative has its finger on the pulse of the community.
It is now possible on a larger scale, to buy organic produce and wholesome food for our families that is both local and naturally grown.

Who is surprised that a powerful man takes advantage of his servant; no one!

Some powerful politicians believe they have a rite of passage; abuse women for sexual gratification.

Yet, these acts are not about sex. This is an abuse of power; an assault on all that is sacred between the public and their elected Representatives.

The power dynamic of rape is as old as human desire, and we see this ugliness time and again. To this day, there are societies that still allow for the rape and bondage of children and women.

Its time for men and women to speak with one voice on this matter. This behavior is criminal, immoral, and should be treated as such.

The Pope of Pedophiles

The Catholic Church has known for centuries that abstinence among their clergy had disastrous results for many of the children in their parishes.

Finally, in the later 20th century, after years of denial and protection by the church, these pedophile priests were identified, with only a handful of them being brought to justice.

Today, the very same man who knew of the abuse of children that went on for years with the sanction of the church, is now Pope and says that all pedophile priests will be prosecuted by the law.

This is a serious case of too little, too late!

We imagine that girls are precious mainly because they are the carriers of a great race...the Human race. However, girls are subjected to unspeakable dangers in some countries by the time they are 12 years old.

In order for our species to continue well into the coming centuries, we must do everything in our power now to secure their futures.

Do some research into child pornography, the sex slave trades, and child marriages. Don't be blinded by the big lights of distraction that disallows the truth to be seen about this issue of endangered children.

Parallel Realities

There's been much written in the past 30 years about the nature of quantum physics and the many worlds interpretation; parallel universes existing at the same time, but never connecting, like trains passing in the night.

Being a great lover of science fiction, it turns out that I am a true "wonk" when it comes to multi-dimensional reality and its many moving parts.

Not long ago I had a dream. Someone had just snatched my handbag and I immediately went after him, thinking about all the aspects of my Identity that could be lost.

As I looked in vain for this creep, I saw a tram and boarded it. I entered a booth and turn to sit down. While still standing, I looked down at the person already seated. Lo and Behold, it was I, ME, I.... was already there,... in the booth before, I have had shown up to take a seat.! INCREDIBLE

Now, even though I was "allegedly" dreaming, I recognized at once that I was inside a real conundrum. Science has always told us that the same object can not occupy the same space at the same time. I fully embraced that one and yet, here I was looking down at my beautiful self.

Rene glanced at me and smiled and I smiled back. She was obviously a younger version of myself because she had a brownish tint to her hair, as I use to have when I dyed mine a few years before. And here we were, in the same space at the same time. This was truly a mind bender for me.

Yes, I've had weird dreams but, being in the same room with myself at the same time...this was science at its best. Now, I had experienced more than just the theory of parallel realities. When I woke up and wrote down this incredible nighttime phenomenon, I knew that I was given a gift. Yes, I'm a student of metaphysics and am inclined to believe things that most sane people wouldn't. However, having the singular experience of a multi-dimensional event that was impossible and yet real, there's nothing better than that!

Everyone is capitalizing on the new advances in science and technologies. Private citizens are paying millions to go into space, electric cars are making a comeback and, Hollywood/ TV producers are making films like Avatar, The Time Traveler's Wife, and Fringe, which speak to the changing mindset within the secular and scientific communities.

Nowadays, except for those who believe that 2012 will be the end of the world, our little slice of heaven, Earth is changing in more ways than the weather. People are opening up to the possibilities that consciousness and energy can shape reality, and that reality is a flexible and dynamic construction designed by the Observer, who is creating it.

As for those other Renes out there just waiting for me to dial into their frequency so we can "parlay"... well, I think I've received the call. There is an old adage..."when the student is ready, the teacher will appear".

In reflection,  I can honestly say I half expected Morpheus to show up with a pill in each hand.  Take the blue pill, wake up and the story ends.  However, if I take the red pill, stay in wonderland and find out how deep the rabbit hole goes..

Well, we're all in this great mystery wrapped in a conundrum...I'll keep you posted!

Legalized Assassinations?

Ugandans are about to find out whether a bill sponsored by some members in their government will allow the legalized "killing" of gays on religious grounds!

The outrage here is that many developed nations are changing laws allowing gays to live openly and to marry, while Uganda is closing the door shut on life and liberty for their fellow citizens.

Since Africa is the cradle of civilization, one can only hope that their inherent sense of humanity will prevail, and vote this horrendous bill down. There is nothing Christian about killing innocent people.

Women and children are the largest group of global citizens
who are abused, isolated in poverty, and abandoned by both their families and governments around the world.

Poor girls, boys, and young women are sold by their starving families to people who later turn them into sex slaves. By the time these "innocents"are 25 yrs old, they are diseased, homeless, and penniless.

These horrible conditions are not just happening to women and children in remote corners of the globe, they are happening right here in America. Everyday, young children and women are lured here to the land of "plenty" where they are enslaved and entombed in the evils of truly demented people.

We can save a life everyday by being aware of what is around us. Raise your voice against sex slavery in American and indeed, around the world.

You are needed. Do some research, find out the facts, and be part of the solution!

Buddha preceded Christ in places like India and China, but the message from both spiritual figures was that LIFE is precious and everlasting. The crackdown of dissidents in China following the Arab spring is astonishing in that few people are talking about the brave citizens these whose human rights are being violated.

The notion that human rights can be violated by either a husband, a wife, a community, or a government has been tolerated for centuries and now is the time to finally put a stop to it. People in the Middle East, Africa, and Asian are asking for the same rights that ordinary Americans and Europeans have. We can not abandon their cause. Raise your voice in unity with repressed global citizens everywhere.

Now is the time to ask, "what would Jesus and the Buddha do"?...and then, just do it!

So often, especially after I have had a good meal, I reflect on all those people who didn't eat that day. As a child, I was cajoled to eat all the food on my plate because of the unfortunate kids in Africa who didn't have enough food to fill their empty bellies.

Today, as we scurry about in our"megafood stores" with so many choices, I wonder if we think about the abundance in front of us and the resulting waste from having so much food? Statistics tell us that in ten years, over population will overwhelm even the most developed nations and FOOD, along with water will be scarce and highly sought after.

What are we doing now to preserve a world where everyone gets to eat at least one meal a day? We can begin by giving one third of our groceries to the local food bank and starting a home garden, or a community garden, and later a Victory garden when everyone in your family, neighborhood, and greater community has a meal everyday!
