The blank page begs for black blood; ink stains with demarcations that reassure me that I have something to add to the conversation. I resist. And yet, anyone who knows me, know I love to take the skin off an idea and plow through its innards until the bone of clarity glints the eye.
So, here is an idea I sparingly share, if pressed.
I'm fortunate to have been taught by a magnificent Master Teacher.
I grasped the basic teaching...the concept that the nature within my DNA, along with my religious and social upbringing was designed to undermine my very Being, unless and until I overrode its programming. I was given the sacred star map to follow and it was on me to navigate the perilous seas of my inner madness and surface unscathed.
To my way of thinking, this is the "godspell". The good news. The moment I have been waiting for. I now had a pathway forward and a blueprint encoded on my soul. I took to the disciplines, none more wonderful for me than the mirror.
Mirror work was worth the long hours and many curious faces that peered back at me. I saw the narrative and the networks in my timeline with each successive body that passed before my very eyes. Old men and old women crawled out from behind the mirror to allow me to see backwards to what the future could be without the great "awakening". Where else would I have learned to look so deeply? Who else would have known to show me where I came from and where I could be going?
1992-2012 is the legacy of the walk. I come out of the shadow as a student and into my realm as a SELF!
I am grateful for these long years of service to my soul and know that what I have been taught, along with what little I might have actually learned, is the joyful noise that gets me up every single day, to march....
I have heard some recent complaints from former RSE students. Clearly, I can only offer compassion as I am without understanding. We each come to this adventure with the Ram on our own terms. What we choose to do with what we are taught, is wholly up to us individually. How we mark the time and who we become while here, is part of the covenant we make with ourselves.
The greatest gift of the school for me has been coming out of the shadow of my own ignorance AND out of the shadow of the Master Teacher. As with any apprenticeship, the student must brave the fine lines of perfection on his/her own. The tightrope walk is to sharpen the focus and fortify the resolve. AH, peace ahead....I can do it!!!!
This holiday season reminds me of the "present" that is my NOW. I embrace it without apprehension and know that as I move out of the shadows of doubt and shame and pain, I move into the light of my own day. I get to stand and deliver for my soul's journey.
My life at RSE has been experiments in greatness, whether on the field, or the tank, caught up in a dark forest, or simply sitting still as glass in a gentle rain, I come to myself and bow deeply for what I have found there.
I believe that without having the woman we know as JZ Knight offer herself to this grand experiment in consciousness for all of us, I would not have had such a remarkable list of great adventures with the Ram to add to the hall of mirrors that await me in the long and lustrous life that I have now.
I salute JZ, and my fellow students for the continued work you are doing for yourselves and for the world we are creating. With great love and respect, Happy Holidays to one and all.

Beauty and the Beast
The glory days of summer is upon us. We wallow in blue skies and sweet, fragrant breezes from a southwesterly wind. But, high above the horizon is an ominous quickening of a destructive fury.
Climate change and its subsequent flashes of pronounced disruptions to our daily lives are becoming more and more common place. Drought and extreme heat has resulted in raging fires that have taken its toll in Utah, Colorado and New Mexico. Overbearing heatwaves blanket the mid-Atlantic states, pushing scorching weather as far as New York and New England. An early hurricane season is sending gale storm winds and rain to areas sooner than expected.
Yet, the summer of 2012 began auspiciously with the transit of Venus on June 5th, crossing the face of the Sun. This rare celestial phenomena has happened only 7 times since the invention of the telescope. The path Venus forges comes in pairs, with the first transit completed in 2004, and the second one this year, taking eight years and forming a pentagram (five pointed star) on its final transit. Astrologers and Spiritualists alike believe the symbolism here coincides with the Mayans, who recorded this time as the beginning of a powerful shift in consciousness on the planet. Given the state of our unstable global economy, over-use of natural resources, over population, and unpredictable climate changes, now is the time for a cosmic fix.
Venus has always been seen as the amplification of love; the feminine mystique in all her grandeur. The Sun; masculine and fearsome, has been the energy source of our spiritual and life-giving existence. Together, there is hope that the overwhelming power of their combined planetary forces will alter the outcome of our downward spiral to catastrophe.
Earth and her inhabitants are the "beauty" that shines so brightly in our corner of the Milky Way. It is our "beastly" behavior towards all living things that is called into question, time and again. If the planets and stars can do their dance with precision and grace, it is no less than something for us to strive toward. Our only course of action is creative transformation; a revolution of holistic survival, built upon equitable balance between nations and their resources. This is the only way we as a world will be here in the next 121.5 years when another Transit of Venus occurs.

Double Vision
In mastering the daytime "action" of my waking reality, it often
occurs to me that the movies which scroll unedited at night might be altered states of frequencies bleeding through a thin veil of chaotic tuning.
For the second time in a year, I dreamed of being in the same time and space with myself. OK, try this one: I occupied the same time and space as another self; me looking at myself, while in the same room.
The first time was truly amazing. I was looking at someone who was me, just a younger version. I couldn't take my eyes off of her. Apparently, nor could she. That encounter was different from the most recent one. Then, I arrived in a booth on a train and she was already there. I was very surprised, yet she was not.
The other night, I was retelling someone about a past incident and before I knew what I was saying, I was catapulted into that very
moment I was describing, only this time, another self was present in the room. I looked over at myself and we were really happy to see each other. She came over to where I was still telling the story and laughed out loud. Surprisingly, we both had no trouble with that scientific conundrum of two objects occupying the same time and space. It was indeed a "fringe" moment.
So, here I am, seeing myself in altered states of awareness and rather cool about the entire experience. That I have walked on water three different times, flown above buildings without wings, seen through walls and visited a marvelous crystal city in the dream state only enhances the idea that we are Spiritual Being hiding out in basement of Nirvana.
Dreaming must be that elusive trap door that get us out of our bodies and into the thrilling world of weird possibilities. Over the years, I have come to love sleeping. I embrace the weightlessness of no-thinking and accept on command, the journey through the portal of another time and another place. Each morning when I awake, I look back at the wonder of it all and smile.

Trust Yourself
Trust Yourself!
Life is to be lived
So, go on
Break the rules,
Kiss slowly,
Love truly,
Laugh uncontrollably,
and never, ever
Regret anything that
Makes you smile!
Peace and love.

"Dying to Know"...
It is more powerful to remain alive as you gather wisdom, than to die trying to obtain it?
Jean Michel Basquiat was one such artist who dared to confront the veil and lift the barriers that separate truth from fiction. His was on a singular journey, digging endlessly into that social indulgence called "emotional madness" with paint and words and their structural artistic interpretations.
Leaving the planet at that critical age of 27..(so many talented artists seem to die at 27), Basquiat left a treasure trove of paintings and drawings to decode and discern the meaning of life from an observant mind, trying desperately not to waste itself!
Something to think about in 2012. Many are fixated on the Mayan calendar and the "end of days". Discerning fact from fiction is a commodity that prophets and pundits spin in the fleeting winds of fear and change. Dogma versus mysticism has dominated the conversation for decades. Who is right, and where are the answers that elucidate the essential questions; where did we came from, why we are here, and where are we going?
In the 21 century, religion has become a poor substitute for those seeking answers. Atheists are no longer a fringe group, but a growing movement of converts, running from the power brokers of the faithful. The spiritual landscape of today is more complex and requires scratching beneath the surface of scriptural instruction, and a belief in unknowable things. Basquiat knew this all too well, as someone willing to create his brave new world without a navigator.
We all want to know truth, yet are we willing to die for what we believe IS that truth? Or, can being alive in the moment of everyday, become the Living truth that eludes us in our quest to know? The emotional madness that artists sometimes confront, is an echo chamber of an even greater field of noise. Quieting the inner voice can lead the wise and prudent traveler to scale the interior of one's soul and discover a transcendental reality ready to unfold.
And, there's no greater truth than that!
